Chilling out

Well halloween is over. The barrage of shows gave quite a good all-around feel of good homegrown music and a fun time was had. The Gutter Queens was probably the highlight of the week (besides drunken misbehavior at Churchill's on hallow's eve; my friends and I know how to make asses out of ourselves!).

This week seems strangely calm in comparison. There was a Panix record release slated for the 5th at the Dugout, but word is it's been pushed back *again*. Will re-post if it crops up again.

Friday is something "different"... hardcore, melodic whatever, pop punk, and some other stuff at The Talent Farm. I've never really experienced these bands and they don't seem to run in the same circles as the other bands i've posted, so maybe that's a good thing? Venue is all-ages, alcohol/danger-free stuff so bring the kids. (What's with the $12 cover for a local show, guys?)

Friday, November 6th, 2009
The Talent Farm - Break On Through, My Complex Island, The Rizzle Bizzle, Hivemind, Bishop, Thick as Blood
8pm, $12, all ages

This Saturday holds two shows: Tongues of the Heartworm (old-school feel-good weirdo punk) record some live material at Radio-Active and Churchill's hosts more post-adolescent street punk goodness.

Saturday, November 7th, 2009

Don't forget: Next Week is the shit! Battalion of Saints on Friday and 3 shows on Saturday (ugh) in Fort Lauderdale, Margate and Miami.
